The World Goes After Him
God wants everyone to have everlasting life. He did this when He sent His Son as a man, made into flesh whose name is Jesus. God did this so we could access Him if we would believe in His Son, the Christ. The Son of God became Immanuel, translated God with us. God manifested Himself in a man by His own Spirit so that God could have relationship with us by becoming like us as we were created in His image. We are to believe in Jesus, so that we can come out of the darkness of death and come into the Light and Life of Man, Jesus, the Immanuel who is God with us. God does not want us to be in darkness but be born of the Light so that we become sons and daughters of the Light for the everlasting life with God.
The scripture text is from John 12. The story of Jesus at the home of Lazarus, Martha and Mary having supper. Mary began to worship the Messiah by anointing His feet with spikenard oil that produced the most beautiful aroma. She wiped His feet with her hair.
We see this family made a resting place for Jesus and honored Him. Have you made a spiritual resting place for the Lord? Is Christ welcomed in your spiritual house? Do you have something in your house that needs to be hidden so that your sins are not discovered? Is there anything in the house of your heart that you don’t want Jesus to see?
Ephesians 3:17-19 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
For Christ to dwell in one’s heart, one must love which is the foundation of all commandments. We love Christ so that we may obtain the greatness of the love of Christ for us because it is beyond everyone’s understanding and comprehension. It is the foundation of love for which we may be filled to complete fullness of God. But, before we can love, we must believe Jesus is the Son of God by faith. It is our faith in Him that completes us with the ability to love when we were not able to love before one’s faith of Him.
So, is Christ living in you to the point you have the knowledge of God’s love? One may know the measure of love based on the measure one loves others. The fullness of God is incomprehensible love that fills us to a fullness to where God’s love overflows to others.
Is your love consistent? Do you find gaps in your personal manifestations of love toward God and others? If so, know that we work out our salvation with fear and trembling so that we may be reminded that it is Christ that maintains a continue flow of love through us. It is impossible for man to love mankind unless Christ fills a vessel for the purpose of manifesting God’s love.
I pray you find the fullness of God so that His love is observed by those who may be absent of love. It is God who is Love. It is the Spirit of Love “God” that draws people to the feet of Christ so that they worship Him and honor Him as the Messiah.
